How to Get Alpaca Mount in FFXIV
Alpaca is a mount added to Final Fantasy XIV DLC Dawntrail. To unlock this fluffy creature, you will not have to do anything complicated, but still you will need a massive amount of time. It will become available after finishing Dawntrail Main Scenario Quests. When you complete the last mission, you will get Alpaca Whistle which allows you to call your new mount.
However, you can test Alpaca earlier. During main quest line, on level 90 you will be able to complete Mablu’s Dream quest. This is when Aplaca is your temporary mount.
Completing the DLCs in Final Fantasy XIV always takes about 50 hours and Dawntrail isn’t exception in that regard. So, get ready for dozens of hours of gameplay. But is the alpaca characterized by anything other than its appearance? Unfortunately, no. It is actually just a normal mount. The animal doesn’t offer you any bonus abilities. So, it is simply a lovely creature on which you can travel the world.
Finally, it is also worth remembering that there are also free-living alpacas in Dawntrail. They can be your opponents.
