Dungeonborne is an action RPG dungeon crawler reminiscent of such games as Dark and Darker and Greed Is Good. It was developed by Mithril Interactive.
Plot
Dungeonborne is set in a dark fantasy world. The game takes place within the dungeons of Clouseay Castle, where brave adventurers face danger and seek treasure.
Mechanics
Dungeonborne is a first-person game. First, we must choose our race and character class - those include fighter, priest, rogue, swordmaster, pyromancer, cryomancer and death knight. Our choice determines our playstyle; fighters specialize in melee combat, pyromancers wield fire magic, rogues dispatch enemies from a safe distance.
As we traverse dark corridors and rooms, we avoid traps and face off against enemies. We'll face off against AI-controlled enemies, powerful bosses and adventurers controlled by other players. Combat is fast-paced, requiring constant movement, blocking, parrying, counter-attacking and spellcasting. We can also succeed by exploiting the environment and luring enemies into traps.
Along the way we'll gather useful valuables and better equipment, as well as gems used to upgrade our gear. Unnecessary items can be sold off at the auction house - if we make it out alive, as dying in the dungeon means losing everything we've gained during this run.
Danger is everywhere, while the dungeon corridors are dark and treacherous. We must stay vigilant and know when to leave before the Castle claims our life.
Game modes
Dungeonborne focuses on the PvPvE mode. Though we can of course explore solo, we'll be better off in a squad of three. The game also features a PvP arena, where two teams of three compete without fear of losing their items.
