Are you confused about the name Tav? On this page we answer this common question and advise what to watch out for when creating your character in BG3.
Tav is the default name of the custom player character in BG3. They start off with this name regardless of their gender or race. As you all know, creating a custom character is a time-consuming affair. Choosing the fitting class, skills, race and background are all rather overwhelming, hence many people forget to change their character's name.
Remember to change it before exiting the creator, lest you discover your character's named Tav hours later. Changing the name has been made much easier in the game's full release, as it's done as the final step of character creation. Don't click through the notifications, and you'll be able to set the perfect name for your character.
