Plot
Monolith is set in the future. The protagonist is Tessa Carter, a space explorer employed by the Intergalactic Mining Corporation, who has crash landed on a barren planet. On its surface she discovers an abandoned mining outpost, whose staff has seemingly fled in a panic.
Tessa must survive, restore the destroyed outpost and unravel the planet's secrets. She's not alone, being accompanied by C.O.R.E. - a small analytical robot equipped with some useful functions.
Mechanics
Monolith makes use of various cinematic camera angles. The player must traverse diverse areas, ranging from deserted outpost interiors to atmospheric wastelands. We'll spend most of the game solving puzzles; the player must be perceptive and clever, finding needed items and correctly combining them. Occasionally we must also operate the machinery left behind on the planet.
Technical aspects
Monolith combines 2D backgrounds (there are 50 hand-drawn areas total) with 3D character models.
