Summons of the Deathless in Diablo 4 is not Bugged but There Is a Catch

The history of Blizzard Entertainment in recent years is as rocky as it can only be. It has undoubtedly an influence on the games that they create. This can be seen in how their latest production, Diablo 4, was conceived. It was plagued by many technical problems. Even the latest content expansion, Season of Blood has been delayed by a few hours due to this reason. That can spark questions, especially that many players seem to be stuck at Summon of the Deathless quest. Despite assumptions of fans, this mission is not bugged, yet its description is not entirely clear. Here you will learn what to do if you don’t know how to proceed.

Completing Summons of the Deathless in Diablo 4

Despite the popular belief, Summons of the Deathless in Diablo 4 is not bugged. It may seem that way as at some point there are no markers on the map nor any clear indication what to do next.

Near the end of the quest, you will be asked to complete Chapter 1 of the Seasonal Journey. There is no other hint on how to progress further, so you might feel lost. All there is to do is to complete all the following quests:

1. The Crimson Garden,
2. Kind Stranger,
3. What Lurks Below,
4. Waste Not,
5. Across the Golden Wastes,
6. Trouble in the Wilds,
7. Contract Forged,
8. A Drop of Blood.

You can track the rest of the seasonal content progress in the Season tab (by default “U” key on PC or by going to menu and the clicking on Season tab). Clearing all of the 8 tasks listed above will progress you through the story and mark Summons of the Deathless quest as completed. This is intended behaviour, though definitely the description that is presented can be misleading.

It can be also worth mentioning that some players have noticed that due to many people jumping into the game, it can take a while for the quest to update. Give it up to 10 minutes to make sure that it properly registered all the data on game servers.
