On this page of the guide, you will learn how Ubisoft Connect works in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. We tell you if you need to login to Ubisoft Connect to start the game and how to receive rewards and purchase Ubisoft Rewards items.
Ubisoft Connect - is the Internet connection required?
Assassin's Creed Valhalla requires a connection to the Ubisoft Connect service in order to play the game. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to open the main menu and will not be able to start a new game.
The exception to the rule described above is to run the game offline, i.e. without the Internet connection. This is possible if you have a console version of the game and temporarily disable the Internet connection on the console. The game will then allow you to start playing without having to log in. A valuable piece of information is that even if you connect to Ubisoft Connect servers at a later date, your previous progress from offline mode will not be deleted.
Logging in to Ubisoft Connect account or creating a new account is possible:
- From the main menu.
- By going to https://ubisoftconnect.com/
If you have already created an Uplay account, the game may recognize that it has been linked to your device and automatically log you in when you start the game.
Ubisoft Rewards items and rewards
One of the most important features of Ubisoft Connect in the context of playing Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is the ability to buy and receive free in-game items. This is equivalent to the former Ubisoft Rewards service.
Items related to Ubisoft Connect appear in the game store. You can press the button to go to Ubisoft Connect window.
The Ubisoft Rewards are divided into 3 main groups:
- Items that can be collected for free without any additional requirements.
- Items that can be picked up after meeting specific requirements, such as participation in a Twitch game stream.
- Items that can be purchased for Units.
You can earn Units by completing challenges and unlocking higher experience levels. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has its own challenges, which are independent of the game trophies. In the Ubisoft Connect window, you can view their requirements and your progress in unlocking them.
When you are in the arena, the game will inform you about completing a challenge, or collecting enough points to advance to a higher level. You do that by spending the Units currency.
Once you have purchased or received free items from Ubisoft Connect, return to the game. A confirmation should appear on the screen.
In order to receive certain prizes, you may be required to reach given locations. For example, you can pick up your new tattoos by visiting the tattoo artist in the settlement, and your new horse coat color by visiting the stable.
